Oana Befort

Oana (pronounced “Wanna”) is a Romanian-born graphic artist based in the American Midwest and is a freelance illustrator, wife, and mother of two children. She is mainly inspired by folk motifs, flora and fauna, nostalgia, and everyday life. Her mixed-media illustrations are hand-drawn and reflect her unique visual approach and love for the natural world, captured with a quirky and modern interpretation.

She also brings her unique style into her stationery line, offering beautiful cards, notebooks, and other essentials to brighten someone’s day.

Oana is a graduate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Romania, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. Before becoming a freelancer, she worked in the advertising world, creating designs and illustrations for various clients such as Coca-Cola.

When she is not drawing, you will most likely find her playing with her two young children, cooking meals, visiting botanical gardens and art museums, looking through the book sections of antique stores, or caring for her plants.
