Michael Bartalos was born in Heidelberg, Germany, and was raised in New York. He studied art at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and is now based in San Francisco, where he is an Adjunct Professor of Graduate Design at the California College of the Arts.
Michael has worked extensively in the graphic arts in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. He also produces limited edition prints and art books with New York’s Purgatory Pie Press, Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, Maryland Institute College of Art’s Dolphin Press & Print, and at the San Francisco Center for the Book.
